This year, Logos Academy Harrisburg celebrates a meaningful milestone: ten years of providing Christ-centered, high-quality education to students and families in our city.
We are here in Harrisburg because we believe in its future. We see the strength, potential, and beauty of this community, and we want to be part of building something that lasts. Our goal is not only to educate students academically but to raise up servant-hearted leaders who will invest in their own neighborhoods. There is so much possibility in Harrisburg. Sometimes all it takes is more people who are willing to care a little more, invest a little more, and believe a little more.
In a city where over 93 percent of students in the public school district are economically disadvantaged and only 14 percent of third graders are reading on grade level, the need for strong educational options is urgent. Logos exists to be part of the solution. We are equipping students with the tools they need not only to learn but to thrive.
Since opening our doors in 2016, our story has been one of steady growth and deep commitment. Even though 66 percent of our students live near or below the poverty line, 83 percent of our third graders last school year were reading at or above grade level. This is nearly six times the local district average and a powerful sign of what is possible with the right support, structure, and love.
Our roots in this community are grounded in service to all learners. As we have grown, so has our commitment to meeting the needs of both neurotypical and neurodiverse students. This year, we are expanding our support systems with the addition of a new sensory room and tools, more flexible seating options, and a library to name just a few.
But our heart for service does not stop with students. This year, we are expanding our school wide service initiative for both students and staff. Everyone in our school community will take part in three service projects throughout the year to make a meaningful impact in Harrisburg. We are proud to partner with local organizations such as Caitlin’s Smiles and Tri County Community Action as we teach and model what it means to love our neighbors well.
As we celebrate a decade of faithful education, we look ahead with hope. We are planting roots that run deep because we believe lasting change in our city begins with investing in our students. The story of Logos has been a miracle at every step, and we are filled with gratitude for every student, teacher, partner, and prayer that has carried us to this moment.
Here is to ten years of learning, growing, and serving together!
