For seven years, LifeGuide Financial Advisors has been a steady and joyful partner in the mission of Logos Academy Harrisburg. Through generous financial support and volunteer teams who serve at our annual Field Day, LifeGuide has helped create opportunities for students who might otherwise have none.
Their generosity is not transactional. It is rooted in a deeply held belief that financial stewardship is about far more than wealth management, it is about impact that outlasts a lifetime.
Living Out a Calling, Not Just a Profession
LifeGuide’s mission is simple and profound: to help families experience financial peace, freedom, and eternal impact. Their work is faith-driven, fee-only, and deeply comprehensive, built around understanding the full picture of a client’s goals and helping them take the “next right step.” LifeGuide Advisors are “true advocates” who seek to develop long term relationships with each of their clients.
As Partner and Senior Advisor Zak Lutz explained, LifeGuide’s calling has grown stronger over the years:
“Our purpose hasn’t changed, it has simply unfolded. The more we understand our mission, the more we realize we’re just getting started.”
Generosity is an integral part of that mission. LifeGuide’s team doesn’t just talk to clients about giving, they participate in the same kind of generosity they encourage.
Since 2014, LifeGuide has given nearly $1 million through their Impact Fund to 35 organizations focused on helping the poor and oppressed, strengthening believers, and reaching the lost.
A Giving Philosophy That Begins with Love for Neighbor
Zak’s own giving story with Logos Academy Harrisburg began years ago when his grandfather passed away and the grandchildren were asked to give away 10% of their inheritance.
“Where could I give this away that would honor my grandfather?” Zak remembers wondering. “He believed education was how you change the system, the way to make a lasting difference.”
Over time, this conviction grew into a personal family value:
“If my kids get to go to private school, then I want to send some other kids who won’t get that chance. That’s how I get practical with ‘love your neighbor.’”
Today, Zak is clear about the heart behind LifeGuide’s commitment:
“I’m concerned with helping kids who don’t have a viable public option.”
Why LifeGuide Chose Logos — and Why They Stayed
LifeGuide first learned about Logos through a dessert gathering hosted by longtime supporters of the school. Zak remembers feeling an immediate connection to the school’s mission, especially its commitment to serving students who need a radically different educational path.
The chance to come alongside a newer organization and “help start things” was particularly exciting for Zak and his family.
“Raising funds gets easier once something is established,” he explained. “But in the beginning, ministries need someone to believe in them and take a risk. It has been a joy taking that risk with Logos.”
LifeGuide has stood with Logos through seasons of challenge, too, times when the school had to make difficult decisions or take steps that felt like going backward.
Zak remembers encouraging the leadership during one of those seasons:
“This effort will never be in vain. Even if the worst happened, those years invested in kids would still matter forever. Love is never wasted, especially with kids.”
Investing in What Truly Lasts
When Zak talks about investment, his perspective is refreshingly countercultural:
“What else are we going to do with our money? Buy a nicer car? Take another vacation? There is no way those things compare with the satisfaction and eternal reward of loving kids.”
For LifeGuide, Logos is not a charitable write-off, it’s a strategic, long-term, eternal investment.
“Logos is an investment that pays dividends long after our lifetime. When you invest in God, His people, and His Word, that impact reverberates into eternity.”
Zak often imagines what those eternal dividends will look like:
“Someday in heaven, I can’t wait to meet the kids who went to Logos. Hear their stories, see what they went on to accomplish in life, feel their appreciation that we took a risk on them, be overwhelmed by the joy of knowing we got to participate in their lives. Who are we to have such a great opportunity to be a part of their lives?”
A Challenge to Other Businesses
When asked what he would tell other local leaders considering how to align their resources with a deeper purpose, Zak didn’t hesitate:
“Go first financially. Take a risk. Take that next step — whatever it looks like. Take what Jesus says about loving your neighbor a little more literally. The Christian life becomes thrilling when we live with eternal perspective.”
And if it doesn’t go perfectly?
“That’s okay. We are all moving on to heaven soon.”
