Large Bright Classroom Home to Pre-K
Thanks to the hospitality of Second City Church, New City School’s Pre-K has a more suitable space. Our initial plan was to use the room in which the nursery of Second City Church is housed. This would mean weekly set up and take down and limit the number of specialized areas. Last Tuesday, the Session of Second City Church approved the School Board’s request that room 4 of the church’s education building be the home of the 2016-2017 Pre-K.
This bright, spacious room provides the much-needed area to house our complete Pre-K program. There is ample room for gross motor activities, tables for snacks, crafts, reading and science centers. In addition cabinets and counter space provide a work area and storage for teaching material and supplies.
The Education Committee will begin setting up the room on July 8. If you’d like to help contact Amy Richardson for more information. If you’d like to donate bookshelves, a bulletin board or other equipment needed to complete the transformation of this room into a warm, fun learning center, you can do so by purchasing an item on our Amazon wish list.
